When you chew the raw slices of garlic, the active ingredients are transfused in your body through blood flowing through your veins and arteries. The kidney, which is our filtration chamber, absorbs these ingredients and passes on to the urethra and the bladder, where the bacteria have already set up their abode. It fights with the bacteria causing UTI.
Have at least 3-4 slices of raw garlic before going to bed and in 3-4 days you can see improvement in your urinary tract.

However, you will also have to keep a check on the food you eat while you are suffering from UTI. Too much of fried or processed food or foods that have high inflammatory content like dairy products, sugar, meat, eggs, etc. can be detrimental to your health as your excretory system gets disrupted during this time.
So, you can opt to have lots of green leafy vegetables that have high nutrition value. You can also add garlic to it for flavour and also to enhance its efficiency.

Garlic helps to strengthen your immune system by stimulating cytokins - small amount of protein that is important in cell signalling. They signal your body to combat against any host disease entering the body and relieve you before you know it. But at times our immune system fails and we develop the disease. That is when garlic comes into play and boosts these cytokines that signal the cell to fight the bacteria entering or which have entered through the urinary tract.
But, you should remember that only garlic cannot fight your UTI problem. You should always seek medical opinion and have proper medication before and after the onset of the disease. However, consuming plenty of water, keeping a check on your diet, and importantly having garlic can help you recover soon from your urinary tract infection.
