Home Remedies For Knee Pain In Older People

the

the
exact
place
of
the
pain
may
vary
because
sometimes
it
may
pain
in
the
kneecap,
the
knee
joint
or
may
be
in
the
muscles,
ligaments
and
cartilage.
Here, we mention to you some of the best remedies that will help you to know how to get rid of knee pain. These home remedies are also effective in treating other knee-related problems, including arthritis.

1. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is extremely helpful in treating knee pain. Due to a large amount of alkaline present in the apple cider vinegar, it helps to dissolve the builup and toxic elements present around the knee area. Apple cider vinegar helps to restore the lubricant in the joints, thus allowing you to move freely. Take two cups of filtered water and add two cups of apple cider vinegar to it. Now drink this liquid in small quantities throughout the day. Other than this, you can also add two cups of apple cider vinegar to your bathing water and use this remedy daily.

2. Ginger
Ginger is an effective remedy that will allow you to relax and also treat knee pain effectively. Due to anti-inflammatory properties found in ginger, it proves to be very effective in treating knee problems and also treat pain due to arthritis, muscle strain or injury. Ginger proves to be effective in treating the pain and also helps to bring down the inflammation. Take one ginger root and boil it for 10 minutes in 2-3 cups of water. Allow the water to boil until the water changes its colour to pale yellow. Now, add one spoon of honey and lemon to the mixture. Drink this ginger tea two to three times in a day. You can also massage your inflammatory area with the help of ginger oil.

3. Turmeric
Turmeric proves to be effective and a natural treatment to treat knee pain. Due to a chemical called curcumin, it contains anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that help to treat pain. According to reports, it is said that turmeric may slow the progression of rheumatoid arthritis, which is one of the main causes of knee pain. Take half a spoon of turmeric and add it to one cup of boiling water. Now, add one spoon of honey to taste and enjoy this water twice in a day. Other than this, you can also take 250 to 500 mg of turmeric capsules to treat the problem completely.

4. Mustard oil
Mustard oil helps to treat painful knee and also helps to lower down the inflammation on the knees. Apart from this, mustard oil helps to improve blood circulation in the body, thus alleviating the pain and working as a really nice home remedy for knee pain. Take two-three spoons of mustard oil and add a few chopped garlic to the oil. Now, heat the oil until the garlic turns brown. Allow the mixture to cool down and massage your knee with this solution. Then, cover the knee with a plastic cap, so that the air does not come in contact with the knee. Do this for two to three times in a day.

5. Epsom Salt
Epsom salt contains magnesium sulphate which helps to bring a good relief from the knee pain. Magnesium in the epsom salt works as a natural muscle relaxant that helps to extract excess fluid in the knee, which is the sole reason behind inflamed knees and joints. You need to add one cup of epsom salt to the boiling water and stir it well. Then, soak the knee in the solution for 15 minutes. Do this three to four times in a day until you get a complete relief from the pain.
