Does Red Meat Really Cause Cancer?
A new study has been passed that red meat is the most dangerous food in the world to consume. The main reason behind this study, is it shows the value of proteins and chemicals omitted and present while cooking or barbecuing red meat, which thus activates the cancer cells in the body.
Research also shows that people who consume a diet which is high in red meat are likely to develop bowel cancer where processed meat seems to be of most concern in comparison.

The two chemicals which are present in red meat are Heterocyclic amines (HCAs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). These two powerful chemicals are formed when the muscle meat, is cooked under high-temperatures such as grilling, frying or even an open flame like barbecuing.
When the Heterocyclic amines are formed, amino acids, creatine, proteins, sugars all react together at a very high temperature, thus causing the cancer cells to activate. On the other hand, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons or PAHs are formed only when red meat is grilled or cooked over a high flame. This is when the juices and the fat together form PAHs.

The study also shows that people who consume a lot of red meat through the week are at high risk of developing other types of cancer too apart from bowel cancer.
On the other hand, apart from cancer, there are various other health issues which prop up if red meat is consumed. This research also shows that red meat is the main reason behind pot bellies, obesity and heart diseases.

The cholesterol present in one serving of red meat is enough to give you a heart attack. When the fat of red meat is consumed it forms a thick layer or coating around your heart, disabling the organ to pump the blood in the body. Due to this, blood circulation is reduced which in turn affects your heart and the brain, resulting in a stroke.
So, the best way to stay healthy is to avoid an over consumption of red meat. Add leafy vegetables to your diet, along with fish and chicken which are less in calories and high in proteins and nutrients too.

In conclusion, experts state that if you have the habit and liking towards red meat, consumption should be restricted to only once in a week or thrice in the month. Exercise should be an important part of your lifestyle too, if this type of meat is consumed. Exercising will help to burn the fat faster and thus help to keep you healthy.
