Foods To Avoid With Fructose Intolerance
Fructose intolerance is a condition where the body finds it difficult to digest fructose, commonly found in foods. The condition is generally a hereditary disorder, the body doesn't contain enzyme aldolase B that converts glycogen from fructose into glucose (energy). The intolerance can be brought under control by excluding fructose and sucrose (table sugar) rich foods from the diet.
Fructose is a sugar that is found in fruits, vegetables, honey and artificial syrups. Symptoms of fructose intolerance includes bloating, stomach pain, loose bowel movements or constipation, vomiting and gastritis. Swollen liver or swollen spleen are also common signs of fructose intolerance.
If you suffer from fructose intolerance, here is a list of foods that you must avoid from your diet.
Foods to avoid in fructose intolerance diet:

Apple
If you suffer from fructose intolerance, avoid apples as they slower your digestive system and is also rich in fructose and sucrose.

Honeydew melon
It is sweet and makes it difficult to absorb and convert fructose into energy.

Mango
The king of all fruits might taste delicious, but if you are suffering from fructose intolerance disorder, exclude it from your diet.

Honey
Honey is one of the richest sources of fructose and can worsen the intolerance. Avoid adding honey to your dishes.

Soda
Carbonated drinks like soda contains artificial sweeteners which can be really harmful for people who have fructose intolerance.

Sweetened milk
Prefer skimmed and low sugar milk to avoid fructose intolerance.

Fruit juice
Fruit juice loses its fiber content during the juicing process, and is highly rich in fructose.

Jaggery
Jaggery too contains fructose and can be really difficult to break down in the body. This is because jaggery is made of palm dates or sugar cane juice which are rich in fructose and sucrose.

Canned food
Processed and canned foods like carrots, beans, tomatoes and corn are foods that people with fructose intolerance must avoid.

Sweet potato
Avoid sweet potatoes if you have fructose intolerance. Even if you are a diabetic, you must avoid this food.

Bread
White bread, pasta and macaroni contains fructose and sucrose so avoid these foods in your fructose intolerance diet.

Desserts
We love to end our meal with a dessert. But if you are intolerant to fructose, avoid desserts.
