Fructose intolerance is a condition where the body finds it difficult to digest fructose, commonly found in foods. The condition is generally a hereditary disorder, the body doesn't contain enzyme aldolase B that converts glycogen from fructose into glucose (energy). The intolerance can be brought under control by excluding fructose and sucrose (table sugar) rich foods from the diet.

Fructose is a sugar that is found in fruits, vegetables, honey and artificial syrups. Symptoms of fructose intolerance includes bloating, stomach pain, loose bowel movements or constipation, vomiting and gastritis. Swollen liver or swollen spleen are also common signs of fructose intolerance.
