Sweating
Summer has many romantic connotations but for a person like my father, summer is a curse. He suffers excessive sweating in summers, which irritates him to the core and also becomes embarrassing when in a gathering. I have been seeing him suffering it every summer and now with summer just round the corner, we are dreading the temper which accompanies the problem. Thus, before summer dawns in India, I looked for some of the reasons and remedies for it.

Reasons Of Excessive Sweating -

1.Nerve Problems – Sweat glands are present all over the body, and the nerves, which are receptor of the brains send the message when there is a need to sweat. When the nervous system fails to send the message or send the wrong stimuli, which is one of the major reasons for excessive sweating. In a more severe form it is called Hyperhidrosis.

2.Spinal Cord – Disorder of the Spinal cord which is the central nervous system can lead to the disorder. One such spinal cord disorder is called the Syringomyelia. The first symptom of spinal cord tumour is sweating.

3.Brain Function Disorder – The sweat glands of the body are controlled by the hypothalamus of the brain, which also control the sense of hunger and thirst. This hypothalamus also maintains the temperature of the body and thus any disorder in this part of the brain results in sweating. This also gives rise to anxiety, depression and stress.

Natural Ways To Treat Excessive Sweating -

1.Turnip Juice - Turnip juice works in controlling the activity of the sweat glands. Turnips can be grated and squeezed to extract juice. Apply this juice on the affected area. One can even drink turnip juice once a day to treat excessive sweating.
