Wheezing is commonly understood as breathing problem and in detail it is a serious respiratory disease symptoms. Wheezing is common among children during winters as they are more vulnerable to respiratory tract infection. According to Dr.Khoulood Fakhoury, an assistant professor at Baylor college, almost 25 percent of children suffer from wheezing. It is caused when the airway is blocked by some infection, allergy and swelling.

Bronchitis

Bronchitis is the most common health condition suffered by children. Bronchitis is an infection which causes inflammation in the windpipe and thus affects the lungs. Due to the swollen airway, while breathing a whistle like sound can be heard. It is not necessary that if children have wheezing, they definitely will have bronchitis but it maybe a symptom.

Asthma

Asthma is the most common cause of this disease. Most of the children below the age of 6 suffering wheezing end up with chronic asthma. It is common among children because of the activities like running, playing for long hours etc. In the process the inhalation is much more rapid and thus open to intake of bacterias.

These are the two major causes of wheezing. Other causes can be inhalation of foreign objects, persistent cough, allergy etc.

Home remedies for wheezing in children

1.Mix equal quantity of camphor and asafetida. Make them into small tablets and drink it with hot water 3-4 times a day.

2.Mix equal quantity of pepper, gooseberry and dry ginger. Mix the powder with honey or butter to make a paste. Apply it on the chest before going to bed.

3.Mix 1.2 spoon of asafetida, a pinch of camphor ans ¼ glass of sesame oil. Apply it on the chest two times daily for quick relief. This home remedy for wheezing in children reduces symptoms like chest pain and tiredness.

4.Roast turmeric power and take two spoon daily with hot water.

5.Soak a a small piece of garlic in hot water and sip on it several times a day.

6.Intake of a spoon of jaggery with mustard oil is the best home remedy for wheezing in children.

7.Mix equal quantity of honey, turmeric and pepper and apply it on the chest for quick relief.

These home remedies for wheezing in children work wonders and get quick relief. It your child is prone to the disease, it is best to take doctors advice.
