Depressed Woman
Are you depressed due to the break up with your lover? Beware! It is time to get over your depression. Being depressed will break your heart soon, literally…

It has been found that relatively healthy women frequently risk cardiac events, including sudden cardiac death (SCD) and fatal coronary heart disease (CHD). A study has found that this is because the women also suffered by severe depression. There are some mediators like high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol and smoking that relate depressive symptoms and cardiac events.

Women with depression must be aware of the possible association between depression and heart disease. They should work with their health care providers to manage their risk for coronary heart disease.

Women with self-reported symptoms of depression and use of antidepressant medication are at higher risk of SCD and CHD. Women with clinical depression were more than twice as likely to experience sudden cardiac death. These data indicate the link between depression and serious heart rhythm problems may be more complex than previously thought.
