Katrina Kaif's Diet Has Soaked Raisins, Dates, Vegetable Soups N More

Katrina Kaif is one of the most-known names in Bollywood and is a beauty guru too.

As someone who never backs down from a challenge, Katrina Kaif is a stickler for working out and eating right, too.

In a recent interview, Shweta Shah, the actor's celebrity nutritionist, revealed the actor's diet, which consists of everything that is good for health.

"Her overall diet is planned around giving her energy-rich foods so she can work out well and also stick to her busy schedule. Katrina's energy levels, great skin and hair are a byproduct of her healthy and clean diet," said Shah to Vogue.

Katrina Kaif's Diet

1. Soaked raisins with fennel seeds

"Katrina has a pitta body, which means she needs foods that can balance this dosha by keeping it alkaline. For this, I recommend her to have eight soaked raisins in the morning along with fennel seeds," says Shah.

As a result of soaking raisins, nutrients such as vitamins and minerals are more readily absorbed. Soaked raisins aka kishmish can also be beneficial in supporting digestion as well as relieving constipation [1].

2. Date balls for sweet cravings

As a means of satisfying her sweet cravings, Katrina often indulges in dates.

Dates are a healthier alternative to refined sugar, as they are packed with fibre and antioxidants, and do not cause a spike in blood sugar levels. The actor makes date balls for dessert from scratch, according to the actor's preferences [2].

3. Vegetable juices

Katrina Kaif's diet includes vegetable juices like ash gourd, celery, and cucumbers in order to maintain a cool body temperature.

Drinking vegetable juices has been shown to reduce cancer risk, improve your immune system, eliminate toxins from your system, aid digestion, and reduce weight, according to experts. There is, however, no scientific evidence to suggest that juices extracted from fruits or vegetables are healthier than juice obtained from them [3].

Note: All types of juice (even vegetables) contain very little - if any - fiber or protein. Fiber is essential for digestion, while protein supports muscles, bones, and blood. Drinking juice alone can lead to malnutrition.

4. The Asian main course

"She likes having two home-cooked meals in a day, mostly of Asian cuisine," says Katrina Kaif's nutritionist. Her favourite dishes include steamed fish, edamame and avocado salad, zucchini or quinoa pancakes, lettuce wraps and zoodles.

Asian diets are low in saturated and total fat, as well as high in fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Many health practitioners believe this combination of foods protects against chronic diseases such as heart disease and cancer [4].

5. Stews and soups

As part of her daily diet, Katrina Kaif often consumes lentil stews and vegetable soups. Her favorite soup consists of broccoli and drumsticks.

The two vegetables are both beneficial to one's health and fitness. Drumsticks have anti-inflammatory properties whereas broccoli adds fibre and is beneficial to one's digestive system.

Drumsticks help to reduce inflammation in the body and are rich in vitamin A and C, which can help to reduce the risk of certain illnesses [5].

Meanwhile, broccoli is a great source of dietary fibre, which helps to improve digestion and can help to regulate blood sugar levels [6].

On A Final Note...

Katrina follows a healthy diet, but it is tailored to her body and health, keeping her body and health in mind.

"Before you add or delete a certain food group from your diet because a celeb does it isn't a good idea. It may work for the celeb because they are guided by a nutritionist, but it may not give you the same results," adds Katrina Kaif's nutritionist.
