Obesity: Can You Beat Your Fat Genes?
Is there a link between genetics and obesity? Can you beat your fat genes? Here are the answers.
Though some people can easily lose weight, a lot of others fail to do so in spite of strict diet plans and exercise routines. Everybody is unique and each body responds in a different way even if the same diet and exercise plans are followed.
What makes all of us different? It is partly due to the genetic history. Your ancestors are different. If they were obese, your chances of turning obese may be higher than others.
Yes, studies have indicated a clear link between obesity and genetics. Here are some more facts.

Fact #1
Your genes can even influence the type of fitness activities you fall in love with. For example, you may love lifting weights while your friends love yoga or running.
Some activities seem very natural and some seem challenging. It depends partly on your genetic make up.

Fact #2
If you inherit fat-genes, will your fitness efforts go waste? Would you remain obese forever? No, if you stay active for half an hour every day, you can still remain healthy even if you have obese ancestors.

Fact #3
A new study claims that genetics can even decide your body's flexibility. Yes, some people are gifted with flexibility. That makes them enjoy better range of motion when they bend or move their joints, shoulders, knees or back. If you wish to enjoy flexibility, you can try yoga.

Fact #4
Researchers say that exercise can reduce the influence of genes on your body fat levels by at least 40%.

Fact #5
Even muscle strength can be inherited. In fact, 90% of it comes from your ancestors. Some people easily bulk up by putting on muscle mass whereas some people take a lot of time and efforts to gain some muscle mass.
Genetics again! But still, you can vary your workouts and repetitions to achieve your goal at least up to an extent.

Fact #6
If your ancestors had weak bones or osteoporosis, you may need to be very careful. Increase your calcium intake and also get enough of vitamin D. Doing jogging, squats and swimming helps. Also, maintain healthy weight to reduce stress on your bones and joints.

Fact #7
Do you get exhausted quite fast? Well, your genetics may also be the reason. Maybe, you may need to focus more on activities that shoot up your endurance levels. This way, you can always attempt to move ahead of your genetic limitations.
