Your body contains 60 percent of water. The loss of water and electrolytes from your body is called dehydration. It is caused by vomiting, excessive sweating, diarrhea (when you lose more water with stools) and other health conditions. Dehydration may be fatal so it needs to be treated immediately.
You must notice few signs of symptoms of dehydration to protect yourself from the harmful effects of dehydration on the body. The symptoms of dehydration are nausea, fainting, drowsiness, fatigue, weakness, increase in heart beat, confused state of mind, dry lips, dry mouth and increased thirst.

The immediate cure for dehydration is to have salt water in which some sugar and lemon is added. A much better option is to have oral rehydration salts (ORS).

If you drive when you are dehydrated it can pose a risk to your life as you are prone to accidents. Dehydration causes your brain to lose control and concentration. It can cause motor impairment in brain for a short time. The motor function of the brain helps you to concentrate while driving or operating a machinery.

Dry Skin And Lips
Dehydration may dry out your skin and lips. If you are addicted to coffee and exercise frequently then you need to increase your water intake as caffeine increases urine output and exercise causes sweating. Both of these contribute to water loss in the body.
