The heartburn that you experience is due to the splashing of stomach acid to the oesophagus, especially if you have a weak lower esophageal sphincter muscle. Citrus fruits

Citrus fruits like lemon and orange are very highly acidic, which will cause acidity. This will happen especially if you take citrus fruits or their juices on an empty stomach.

Tomatoes
If you are a tomato lover, here is bad news for you. Tomatoes are one of the major foods that cause acidity and its associated difficulties. If you have acidity, it is better not to include tomatoes in your diet.

Spicy foods
Spicy foods are one of the most common causes for acidity. Pepper, Mexican food, chilli, and any other food with pepper can initiate acidic reflex. If you find it difficult to avoid these foods, limit the intake.

Potato
Potatoes are always in the list of culprits for acidic reflux. Limit the use of potatoes if you already know that potatoes will take away the mood of your day. Avoid taking potatoes in all forms like mashed potato or potato sabji.

Alcohol
Alcohol consumption can be considered as one of the major reasons for your acidity problem. Alcohol opens the lower oesophageal sphincter. Avoid drinking alcohol and replace them with other healthy drink choices.

Caffeine
This will be one of the saddest news if you are a coffee lover. But, it is true! Caffeine belongs to the group of foods that cause acidity. Caffeine can be considered as one of the foods to avoid for acidity problems.

Chocolate

Dal
