Tips To Prevent Diabetes
Diabetes is becoming a very common and chronic disease that is effecting people worldwide. It is a condition when your blood sugar level shoots up thus giving rise to many health complications. People with diabetes are often advised to follow prescribed medication throughout their life. In many cases when the disease becomes chronic, diabetic patients have to rely on insulin injections.
There is no proper cure for diabetes yet a healthy lifestyle and diet can help control your blood sugar levels. Here are few ways that can help you in preventing diabetes.

1. Exercise regularly: The basic cause of diabetes is high blood sugar levels. It is generally seen that people who have low metabolism has high glucose level. Therefore, the basic tip that you can use to prevent diabetes is exercise regularly. Exercise gives a boost to your metabolic rate and that is the key point in preventing diabetes.
2. Avoid trans fat: Foods that have trans fats aid to weight gain. This is another prominent cause of diabetes. It has been found in various researches that hydrogenated vegetable oils and trans fats foods like burgers, potato chips etc contribute to diabetes. High level of trans fats in your body can give rise to many heart problems too so, it is best to avoid foods with hydrogenated fats.
3. Avoid refined carbohydrates: One should avoid eating refined carbohydrates like sugar and rice to prevent diabetes. Refined carbohydrates that is found in sugary item like candies, sweets and dry cereals like rice are high in carbohydrates that aids in weight gain. As mentioned earlier, the weight gain causes diabetes. So, intake of refined carbohydrate foods can cause diabetes.
4. Eat lots of fibre: Digestive system gets effected with diabetes. Therefore, keep the digestive system fit by including fibre rich foods in your daily diet. Eat lots of green leafy vegetables, dates, figs etc that are rich in fibre. When you eat a high fiber meal, glucose is released slowly and this in turn prevents blood sugar level from shooting up.
5. Don't drink too much of coffee or tea : It has been proved that people who drink more than 4 cups of tea or coffee are at higher risk of becoming diabetic. Therefore, it is advised to keep a check on your daily intake of tea or coffee.
6. Eat frequently: Eating small and frequent meals can help you prevent diabetes. Foods like sprout, sugar free biscuits, dhoklas, oatmeal etc are few healthy and filling snacks that you can munch anytime. Eating small meals throughout the day helps your body to regulate blood sugar levels. Eating heavy dose of meal for 2- 3 times can increase blood sugar levels. So, it is highly recommended to eat small meals for 5-6 times in a day.
These are few ways by which you can cut the risk of becoming a diabetic.
