Ready To Rock The Lehenga? Get The Hottest Looks This Fall-Winter
The lehenga is probably the most elegant and luxurious outfit for an Indian woman. It's a three piece ensemble that consists of a skirt, a blouse and a dupatta. This dress is called by many names but the 'lehenga' is by far the most popular one. It's worn almost all over India and Pakistan in different variants.
We love the lehenga because it's a verstile costume. It can be as simple and light or as embellished and heavy as possible. Lehengas can be worn to grand events such as weddings or as regular wear at home. It can truly be dressed up or down to suit any occasion.
Today, we're going to discuss the latest trends in the lehenga department. Though the basic structure of the attire is the same, the cuts, silhouettes, colours and draping styles vary from season to season. This is what you ought to look forward to if you're planning to don a lehenga this fall-winter, especially those inspired by this year's Lakme Fashion Week.
1. Bright Colours:

We loved the brightly hued lehengas that were paraded up and down the runway this fall-winter. If you're someone who loves these shades then you must pick a lehenga like that of Gaurang Shah's this season. Fiery reds and oranges, sunny yellows and coral; best colour palettes ever trending right now.
2. Pastels:

Demure damsels, steer clear of neon tints. No, it's not because you don't want them, it's because pastels are also equally hot this season. We love the marriage between pastel shades and metallic sequin. Great for weddings as well as family dinners and dates, these colours will make you glow. Be a pastel princess this season and get ready for showers of compliments.
3. Crop Tops:

Leave your 90's inspired choli behind and opt for a sexy crop top to match your lehenga. It's true, crop tops can be worn with Indian attire. Fitted or flared, they will add a modern touch to your desi look. We love how Neeta Lulla managed to pair these two pieces and create a stunning outfit at the Lakme Fashion Week. Go wild with crop tops this season and transform your look.
4. Geometric Prints:

Indian prints are usually thought to be paisley and floral but they've taken a sharp turn this season. Lisa Haydon looked fantastic in her tribal print choli. Swati Vijaivargie has shown us that one can still look girly and cute while clad in angular embroidery and prints. We love this look for fall-winter. Try it once before you shirk it.
5. Sheer:

Ah! The grace and femininity of sheer fabric. It's probably the sexiest way to dress till date. Shruti Sancheti gave her models lovely sheer lehengas with fitted pants underneath. The cholis had bell sleeves that matched the flare of the skirt. Beautiful outfit indeed. This lehenga look is for those daring women who can handle the envious stares they'll soon encounter.
6. Bridal Beauty:

Getting hitched this fall-winter? We've got just the thing for you. Take cues from Payal Singhal's show stopper Nimrat Kaur. She looked ravishing as she sashayed in her red and gold bridal lehenga. The embellishments and jewels were very old-world and hence, gave her a regal look. This is the look you ought to aim for this fall-winter.
