Opening Show: Tarun Tahiliani's Collection At Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016
The fashion gala opened with a spectacular presentation by Tarun Tahiliani. Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016 kicked off last night and opened with magnificent collection brought to us by the ace designer Tarun Tahiliani.

In this collection, art and fashion share a symbolic relationship. The collection is an ode to the renowned sculptor Mrinalini Mukherjee and her bronze sculptures. The collection highlights darker tones of the colour palette; charcoal black, brown, wine red and olive green.

The collection is punctuated with the tones of contemporary artists. Satin, cotton, and tulle are dominating this season in his collection. The use frills is at maximum. Frills have been added to saree, dresses, frocks and many other ensembles.

Tarun has imbued a fantastic draping technique in this collection. The silhouettes were primarily modern with an edge of Indian touch. Judging by the collection, it seems frills are going to rule the next season. Ready for this upcoming trend?
