Nikhil Thampi Amazes Us With His Illuminate Show In Association With Lakme Salon
One of our ace designers, Nikhil Thampi came out with his new Quantum Collection in association with Lakme Salon this Lakme Fashion Week. Touted as one of the most awaited shows of Day 3, once the models showed up on the ramp, it was rightly named so.

If there is one thing that we have learnt from Nikhil Thampi's previous designs, it is that he never fails to amaze us. Breaking the current trend of anti-fit, he opted for his signature structured garments, form fitting and well tailored pant suits and pleated skirts.

This Quantum collection started off with earthy colours and moved on to striking colours inspired from the reality of the earth to the constellation and galaxies, you can see the transformation on the runway. The most striking aspect about Thampi's collection was a framing with fixed lights on it that all his models carried with them while they walked on the runway.

It was a frame the length of a dressing table mirror with lights on the edges that lit up the models' looks, thus the name of the collaboration was the Illuminate Show. The collection was divided into three parts, which were Hue, Shimmer & Crystals inspired by the makeup.

The collection was sophisticated and hinted towards power dressing; the metal bits holding the parts of the garment together giving it the perfect edge. Kudos to Lakme Salon and Nikhil Thampi for the conceptualization of the runway show and the strong design sense.

Do let us know what you think of Nikhil Thampi's edgy collection.
