Maybe Not The Crown, But Miss Universe India 2025 Manika Vishwakarma Conquered Every Fashion Moment
Many of us were rooting hard for India to win Miss Universe 2025. When that didn't happen, it stings a little. But here's the thing: Manika Vishwakarma might not have taken home the crown, but she absolutely owned the style game. With every outfit, she told a story of heritage, strength, and daring elegance.
At 22, Manika isn't just a pretty face on a stage. She's a final‑year Political Science and Economics student, a trained classical dancer, a painter whose work has been recognised nationally, and the founder of an initiative advocating for neurodivergence. So yes, we might feel disappointed that India didn't clinch the crown but watching Manika walk in these incredible looks made every heartbreak worth it.
Golden Gown At The Grand Finale
On the grand finale night, Manika stepped onto the stage in a breathtaking gold gown by Nhà Mốt 9192. The gown's sheer, light-gold fabric is richly embroidered with gold and silver beads in abstract, vine-like patterns. Floral and star-shaped appliqués trail gracefully along the gown, adding a hint of celestial magic.
Tailored to hug her figure, the gown features a daring high slit on the left, a dramatic open back, and a sweeping train that catches the light. She balanced the boldness of the outfit with pared-down accessories and kept her hair sleek and straight. Her warm-toned makeup complemented the gown perfectly.
National Costume: "The Birth Of Enlightenment"
If her finale dress was all about glamour, her national costume was about meaning. Titled "The Birth of Enlightenment," this look paid tribute to the moment Prince Siddhartha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree.
The color palette of gold and saffron evokes divinity, purity, and spiritual wisdom. The costume is structured and sculptural, with layered panels that echo temple architecture. Leaf motifs inspired by the Bodhi Tree are embroidered throughout, and a prominent Dharma Chakra sits at the heart of the ensemble.
A saffron train flows behind her, echoing the robes of Buddhist monks, while her headpiece - gold filigree shaped like temple spires topped with a lotus bloom completes the spiritual narrative. Even her walk was choreographed with symbolic hand gestures, strengthening the overall impact. This costume was devotion, storytelling, and artistry all in one.
Ivory Minimalism On The Red Carpet
For a red carpet appearance, Manika embraced a sleek ivory gown by Duy Tran Couture that proves you don't need glitz to make a statement. The gown features a split Mandarin collar, side cut-outs at the waist, and a modest V-neck, balancing structure and softness. Padded shoulders give definition, while long sleeves maintain elegance.
The gown flows into a gentle train, and she accessorized minimally - a black mini bag, delicate studs letting the gown shine. Soft waves and luminous makeup completed the understated yet sharp look. It's the kind of outfit that speaks power without shouting.
Sheer Nude-Mesh For "Night of Magic"
At the "Night of Magic" pre-finale event, Manika stunned in a sheer nude-mesh gown by Nhà Mốt 9192. The illusion fabric hugs her frame like second skin, while metallic beads, sequins, and crystals shimmer with every movement.
The mermaid-style silhouette fits snugly through the torso and flares out at the hem with a subtle train. A plunging sweetheart neckline adds sensuality without going overboard, while long sleeves balance the exposed effect. Minimal accessories and soft waves let the gown take center stage. This look felt ethereal, daring, and unforgettable - a true showstopper.
Ice-Blue Mermaid Gown at the Gala Dinner
For the Miss Universe Gala Dinner, Manika Vishwakarma embraced her inner sea goddess in an ice-blue mermaid gown by Lê Thắng. The sleeveless dress featured ombré blue sequin embellishments on the bodice, blending seamlessly into a tulle skirt that gave the illusion of gentle waves. It had a plunging neckline, a faux-nude base, a thigh-high slit, and a sweeping, floor-length train. Manika completed the look with sapphire and crystal jewellery - including a maang tikka, earrings, and a ring - while her hair flowed in centre-parted blowout waves and her makeup leaned into smoky eyes and plum lips.
Manika's Real Crown Isn't Made Of Gold
Not winning Miss Universe 2025 might feel like a loss, but watching Manika in these gowns? That was a victory in itself. From her golden finale gown to her symbolic national costume, minimalist red carpet elegance, and sheer futuristic masterpiece, every outfit carried a purpose. In a pageant world where crowns matter most, Manika proved that real impact comes from style, storytelling, and presence. And in that sense, she's already a queen.
