Budget 2024: Nirmala Sitharaman Picks Silk Saree To Present Budget, Flaunts Her Elegant, Minimalistic Look!
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has delivered the Union Budget 2024-25 in Parliament on 23 July 2024, marking a momentous occasion in the political and economic history of India.
The fact that this presentation is the first budget of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's third term makes it especially notable. Furthermore, this budget will be Nirmala Sitharaman's seventh straight, breaking the previous record held by former prime minister Morarji Desai, who as finance minister presented five regular budgets and one interim budget.

Sitharaman, who is well-known for her tasteful and conventional wardrobe selections, showed up wearing an off-white, soft silk saree with a checkered design and a striking pink zari border, along with a simple pink blouse. Her wardrobe choices carry on her legacy of presenting India's opulent handloom past.
The minister of finance's penchant for handloom silk sarees is evidence of her admiration for the best Indian textiles; she regularly chooses Patola, Mangalagiri, Jamdani, and pure handloom cotton and silks. In keeping with the "less is more" mantra, she accessorized her outfit with little jewellery, a straightforward haircut fastened with a hairclip, and her signature no-makeup look.
This budget is more important than just how it is presented. Experts predict significant capital spending, especially for improvements to Indian Railways and roads. It is anticipated that placing a strong emphasis on infrastructure development will improve the country's transportation systems and spur economic growth.
Due to the urgency of the Lok Sabha elections, the Interim Budget was delivered in February, hence this year the Budget is being presented during the Monsoon session, which is not how it usually happens. The Monsoon session, which runs from July 22 until August 12, consists of 19 sittings.
Calling it an "important budget for Amrit Kaal," a word denoting the opportune period for constructing a flourishing India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the significance of this budget. According to him, the Budget will set the course for the next five years of the government's tenure and provide a solid basis for the realization of the goal of "Viksit Bharat" (Developed India). This Budget seeks to pave the way for accomplishing important developmental benchmarks and elevating the nation's stature internationally.
The Union Budget, which includes plans for revenue collection and expenditure, is an important policy document outlining the government's fiscal strategy. Millions of residents' lives are directly impacted, affecting a wide range of sectors from business and agriculture to healthcare and education. The Budget's plans for reducing inflation, increasing employment, and promoting sustainable growth are eagerly anticipated given the complexity and difficulties of the current global economic climate.
The Union Budget 2024-25 reflects the government's goals for the advancement of the country in addition to its financial position. The economic narrative of India is expected to change significantly as a result of Nirmala Sitharaman's speech today, which promises to lead the nation toward development, inclusion, and sustainability. The country is waiting for the announcement of plans and programs that will influence its economic environment for many years to come.
