International Music Day: The Inspiring Music And Fashion From Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham
Kabhi Kushie Kabhie Gham is the work of the ever talented Karan Johar and his father Yash Johar. The 2001 Indian drama film is an iconic movie in Indian Cinema. The reason being that it had the perfect blend of a tight plot, all star cast, memorable fashion, vivid colours, enviable dancing and mesmerising music. The heart warming love story that takes us from India to London and back again is a topic we must discuss this International Music Day for the most obvious reasons.
International Music Day falls on the first of October each year and was initiated in 1975 by Lord Yehudi Menuhin to mainly encourage the promotion of our musical art among all sections of society. Today we're celebrating the music from K3G and you better buckle up because you're in for a power packed journey to the land of Bollywood where drama and action are always at an all time high!

The most memorable number in terms of fashion is You Are My Soniya. It stars Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor and they most definitely nailed it. The music is catchy and fun, luring one and all to sing along The red, sequin, backless crop top paired with retro pants was, at one point, one outfit we all wished we had, admit it. Also Kapoor's fat belly was enough reason to hit the gym. Her bold make-up and poker straight, coloured hair became so popular that we witnessed plenty of women mimicking the same. This racy look of Kareena's was so wild in 2001 that most parents turned their noses up in sheer disgust but we know everyone wanted a piece of the gyrating goddess and we can't blame them.

Bole Chudiyan is another special song that brings happy tears to all of us who grew up listening to, singing or dancing to it. Walk up to any Indian girl and ask her to move to Bole Chudiyan and she'll immediately strike her wrists together and sing the lines fluently. It's an anthem, this song, and we can't get enough.

Now, coming to the fashion aspect, the lovely embellished lehengas and palazzo pants are the highlight of this track. Karan Johar really outdid himself by choosing such decadent costumes that each one of us wish listed them almost instantly. The heavy embroidery and gold, red and pastel shades made Kareena and Kajol look angelic and ethereal.

The final song that we're talking about is Suraj Hua Maddham. This song is a romantic number that makes anyone want to fall in love all over again. And again. And again.

Our leading lady Kajol is seen in various costumes and colours through the track and you can see for yourself how amazing she looks. The first red lehenga, green sheer saree, a yellow sheer saree, yet another red and another yellow, black, blue and finally white, not to mention the white suit she's seen wearing at the beginning and end.

The series of outfits in this song are amazing as they are well colour co-ordinated and match the locations in the most spectacular way. The music is very deep and full of emotion, and Kajol's look will urge you to blow up an entire month's pay on sheer sarees and sexy cholis.
The movie is great for many reasons. The music, the love stories and the fashion. We especially love Kajol and Kareena for their demure and daring looks. Tell us what you think.
