Gongura Thokku Recipe – Tasty And Spicy
It is extremely difficult for working women to prepare curries and side dishes for breakfast especially when the clock is ticking fast, so we present you a simple yet easy recipe which can be prepared in the weekend and preserved for the whole week. Our instant recipe for the day is the Gongura Thokku recipe. Thokkus can be preserved easily for months and need not have to be refrigerated. Gongura thokku is famous in Andhra Pradesh and is a tangy and spicy recipe. Take a look at how prepare the easy gongura thokku recipe.
Gongura Thokku Recipe -
Ingredients:
1.Fresh gongura leaves
2.1/2 cup oil
3.1 tsp cumin seeds
4.1 tsp mustard seeds
5.1 tsp fenugreek seeds
6.Pinch of asafoetida
7.2 tsp red chili powder
8.Salt to taste
9.1/4 tsp garlic paste (optional)
Method:
1.Wash the gonkura leaves and chop them finely.
2.Heat
oil
in
a
pan
and
add
mustard
seeds,
fenugreek
seeds,
cumin
seeds,
garlic
paste
asafoetida
and
wait
for
it
to
splutter.
3.Add chopped leaves and fry until it changes color.
4.Add salt, red chilli powder and cook until it becomes paste (chutney consistency).
5.Turn off the heat and let it cool. Tasty gongura thokku ready to serve
6.Store the thokku in a ceramic jar.
Relish the tangy thokku with hot dosas, idlis or even with hot plain rice and ghee.
