Spicy Chilli Potato Recipe

We have a delicious recipe that you to try out. This vegetarian recipe is made with potatoes with a Chinese touch to it which makes it an absolute delight for your taste-buds.
You must have heard about chilli chicken, chilli paneer and other such versions. So, we have tried out the same recipe with potatoes and added a spicy kick to it. Spicy chilli potatoes is easy to prepare and the taste of this vegetarian recipe is simply irresistible. Adding a dash of chilli vinegar adds a tangy twist to this delightful Chinese recipe and makes it all the more exciting to try out. Ajinomoto should be strictly avoided by pregnant women who are planning to try this special recipe.

So, here is the recipe for spicy chilli potatoes. Try it out and have a lip-smacking meal.

Ingredients
- Potatoes- 5 (peeled and sliced)
- Cornflour- 2tbsp
- Onions- 2 (diced)
- Capsicum- 1 (diced)
- Garlic- 6 pods (chopped)
- Ginger-garlic paste- 2tsp
- Ajinomoto- a pinch
- Salt- as per taste
- Chilli flakes- 1tsp
- Green chillies- 4 (slit)
- Green chilli sauce- 1tsp
- Soy sauce- 1tbsp
- Tomato sauce- 2tbsp
- Chilli vinegar- 1tsp
- Oil- 2tbsp
- Oil- for deep frying
- Water- ¼ cup
Procedure
- Cut the potatoes into thin slices and soak it in salt water for about 5 minutes.
- Prepare a thick batter of cornflour, salt and water.
- Heat oil for deep frying in a deep bottomed pan.
- Drain the excess water from the potatoes. Dip each slice in the cornflour batter and fry it in the pan for about 3-4 minutes till it turns golden in colour.
- Once you finish frying the potato slices, keep them aside.
- Heat two tablespoon of oil in a pan and add chopped garlic and diced onions. Fry on medium flame for 3-4 minutes.
- Then add ginger-garlic paste, capsicum, green chillies and fry for 3 minutes.
- Add ajinomoto, chilli flakes, salt and cook on medium flame for about 5 minutes.
- Now add soy sauce, tomato sauce, green chilli sauce, chilli vinegar and mix well.
- Mix in the fried potato slices and stir fry for 5 more minutes.
- Once done, switch off the flame and serve.
Spicy and tangy chilli potatoes are ready to be served. Enjoy this sumptuous dish with fried rice or noodles.
