Aloo methi is a splendid and delicious Indian side dish recipe. Aloo methi (potatoes with fenugreek leaves) is a special North Indian side dish that is served with roti or dal and rice. Ingredients
- Aloo- 5-6 (boiled, peeled and cut into medium sized pieces)
- Methi leaves- 1 cup (washed and chopped finely)
- Garlic- 2 pods (chopped)
- Turmeric powder- 1tsp
- Red chilli powder- 1tsp
- Cumin seeds- 1tsp
- Mustard seeds- ½ tsp
- Salt- as per taste
- Oil- 2tbsp
Procedure
- Wash the methi leaves and sprinkle salt. Keep aside for an hour. This reduces the bitterness of the leaves.
- Heat oil in a frying pan. Season with cumin and mustard seeds.
- When the seeds start to splutter, add the boiled potatoes and mix well. Cook for 2 minutes on a medium flame.
- Squeeze out the methi leaves and then add into the pan. Mix well and cook on a medium flame for another minute.
- Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and mix well. Cook for another 10-15 minutes on a medium flame.
Aloo methi ki sabzi is ready. Serve it hot with roties.
