Yummy Sambar Sadam Lunch Recipe
Sambar sadam is a very popular dish in south India. Sambar is a gravy that South Indians prepare at least once in a week. So, the mixture of rice and sambar is a delicacy in itself.
If you are wondering what to prepare for lunch, sambar sadam is a good idea because you can prepare the dish quickly and easily. It can be cooked in a rice cooker. This south Indian sambar sadam recipe is quite tasty.
Sambar sadam recipe is a mix of delicious vegetables, dal and spices. In Karnataka, sambar sadam is also called as bisi bele bath. This authentic south Indian dish is a must try if you are a fan of south Indian delicacies. If you know how to make a sambar, then the recipe for this sambar rice will be easy for you.

Tomato-

(chopped)
Carrots-

(boiled
and
chopped)
Onion-

(chopped)
Procedure
1.
Wash
the
rice
and
dal
thoroughly
in
running
water.
Soak
rice
and
dal
in
water
for
3-4
hours.
2.
Now,
take
a
pressure
cooker
and
add
ghee
into
it.
Put
the
soaked
rice
and
dal
into
it.
Add
red
chilli
powder,
coriander
powder,
turmeric
powder,
sambar
masala,
salt
and
asafoetida
into
the
cooker.

Then,
add
the
tamarind
soaked
water
into
the
cooker.
Add
2
cups
of
water
and
let
the
mixture
cook
for
10
minutes
till
you
hear
3-4
whistles.
4.
In
the
meantime,
take
a
pan
and
heat
it
with
oil.
Add
the
mustard
seeds.
Wait
till
it
splutters.
Now
add
tomatoes,
carrots,
potatoes
and
onion
into
the
pan
and
saute
it
well.
5.
Now,
add
this
mixture
from
the
pan
into
the
pressure
cooker
and
stir
it
well.
6.
Put
the
cooker
in
medium
flame
and
cook
the
mixture
for
a
while
more.
Now
your
sambar
sadam
is
ready
to
be
served.
