Protein Rich Toor Dal Rice Recipe
At times it is nice to sit back and relax with something simple on your plate. This afternoon, Boldsky shares with you a simple dal rice recipe which will suit the needs of everyone in your family. This dal recipe is made with the help of toor dal which is one of the best ingredients to add to your diet.

Toor dal is rich in folic acid which is beneficial for women who want to start a family. This dal rice recipe also contains a high amount of nutrient levels since you will be using other spices too. While preparing this mouth watering easy rice recipe, you should keep in mind not to add too much chilli or hot spices as it will remove the aroma of this dish. To make this toor dal rice for lunch, here is the recipe.

All You Need
- Rice - 1 cup
- Toor Dal - ¼
- Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Turmeric - 1/ 2 tsp
- Curry Leaf - handful
- Asphotiedia - a pinch
- Salt To taste
- Onion - 1tbsp (chopped)
- Green Chilli - 2 (sliced)
- Tomato - 1 (chopped)
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Water - 1 1/ 2 cup
Procedure
- Take a cooker and add the oil. Wait for the oil to turn hot and then add in the cumin seeds and mustard seeds.
- When it starts to splutter, add in the chopped onion, green chillies, curry leaf, chopped tomato. Give these ingredients a good stir over a medium flame.
- When the onions are seen turning into a light golden colour, add in the turmeric powder, asfotedia and the salt to taste.
- Now add in the rice and toor dal to the cooker and slowly mix all these ingredients. Fry the rice a little with the ingredients that is present in the cooker.
- Now add in the water to the cooker and close the lid. Pressure cook the toor dal rice for 4 whistles and switch the flame off.
