Avarekai Sambar Recipe

Avarekai Sambar Recipe -

Ingredients :

1. 1 ' cup Avarakkai/val beans (boiled)

2. 1 cup Toor Dal (boiled)

3. ' cup fresh Coconut (grated)

4. 2-3 Red Chilli

5. 1 tsp Cumin seeds

6. Pinch of turmeric

7. 1 tsp Sambar powder (chilli powder)

8. Salt to taste

9. 2-3 cups Water

Garnish:

1. 1 tsp Coconut oil

2. 1 tsp Mustard seeds

3. 1 tsp Split Urad dal

4. Pinch of Asafoetida

5. ' cup Curry leaves

Avarekai Sambar Recipe Method:

1. In a vessel, add avarekai , dal, salt with a pinch of turmeric and bring it to boil.

2. Grind coconut, cumin and red chillies with water into a paste.

3. Add the paste to the boiling mixture with sambar powder and boil for some more time.

4. Season the hot sambar with fried mustard seeds, urad dal, asafoetida and curry leaves.
