Mini-Idly Recipe: Colourful & Healthy Recipe
Mini or button idlis are a great hit with kids. Team it with vegetable purees to make them more colouful and healthy. These mini idlis can be packed easily and can be prepared quickly for breakfast or an evening snack.
Apart from the regular idly batter and fresh vegetables, all you need to prepare this healthy snack is a mini-idli stand that is available in all stores. Have a look at tasty mini-idly recipe.

batter:
Idly
rice:

cup
Urad
Dal:
A
little
more
than
half
a
cup
Wash and soak the rice and urad dal separately.
For the Colour:
Tomatoes,
Carrot,
Spinach
(Washed
and
boiled)
Ragi
Flour
Method for preparing mini-idli:
Grind
the
rice
and
urad
dal
that
has
been
soaked
separately.
Later
add
little
salt
and
mix
both
together.
Allow
it
to
ferment
overnight.
Make
a
separate
puree
of
the
tomatoes,
carrot
and
spinach.
Divide
the
idly
batter
into
4
portions.
Add
each
vegetable
puree
and
ragi
flour
to
each
portion
of
the
idly
batter.
This way you'll have 4 differently coloured batters.
Grease the mould with ghee or oil. Pour the batter into the mould.
Steam for 10-15 mins.
Mini, colourful idlies are ready to be savoured. Serve with coconut or mint chutney.
