Have A Cheesy Guava Breakfast
Break Fast
oi-Denise Baptiste

It is fun and easy to cook and can be made by using the ingredients that are readily available at your nearby stores.
You
will
need:-
I
kg
of
guava
,
make
it
into
pulp
800
gms
of
sugar
1
sour
lime
1
tsps
of
butter
Lets start Cooking:-
- Wash the guavas thoroughly and remove the black patches that usually grow on the guava, then set it in a cooker and boil it.
- Now after the fruit is boiled, slit the fruit into two parts and slowly remove the seeds and the pulp , do not get rid of them, but store them into a small container. You will need it later.
- Now place the guava skins into a blender or a mixer and grind it to make it into a puree.
- Once your puree is ready, there will still be some amount of seeds that are left, so make sure you use a muslin cloth to strain the puree.
- Now grind the pulp and the seeds that you had first removed earlier, after that is done, mix it well in the puree and strain it again using the muslin cloth.
- After all the strenuous straining , place it on the fire to cook. You have to continuously stir the mixture to boil on a low flame, keeping it from getting burnt.
- After a little while add in the sugar to the mixture and don't forget to keep stirring the puree.
- You will have to add in the sour lime to the mixture and as you keep stirring it you will will notice that the mixture is turning into a reddish orange brown, you can now remove some of the mixture and store it in a jam container, this is what you call “guava jam".
- As you keep stirring on a low flame you will see that the mixture is turning in to a dark red brownish color. You will see that it is getting thicker and thicker while you stir.
- It is ready at last, pour the contents into a oiled based tray and let it cool for some time under room temperature.
When the mixture is set , dice it into small cubes that can be eaten as a sweet after a meal. Or you can even slice it into thin strips like that of the cheese you get from the grocery shop, so that it will be easy to place in between your bread to give you a tangy sweet sandwich.
