Ingredients
- Puffed rice - 500gms
- Jaggery - 1 cup
- Elachi - 2
- Water - 1/2 cup
Procedure
- Take a heavy bottom vessel. Place it on a low flame and add water to the vessel when hot. As the water begins to boil add in the jaggery.
- When placed on a low flame the jaggery will begin to melt. Stir the gur for 5-10minutes continuously on the flame.
- Continue to cook the ingredients on a now medium heat until the syrup begins to concentrate. Take a small plate with water and add to it a drop of the jaggery syrup from the vessel.(if you can make a ball of it then the syrup is ready).
- Now add in the puffed rice to the vessel on the flame. Stir it with a flat spoon and add in the elachi too.
- You will see that within 2-3 minutes the puffed rice or the murmura and jaggery gets mixed up into one.
- Wait for another 5 minutes. Wet your hands with little water and make round balls using this mixture.
- Place the balls on a flat plate and allow it to get cool.
Consume only when it is cold. Your Mumura laddu is now ready to eat.
