Eid Ul Fitr 2021: Shahi Sheer Khurma Or Vermicelli Recipe
Shahi Sheer Khurma is a special dish of Ramzan and Eid. In Urdu, it means milk with dates. Sheer kurma is a vermicelli pudding which is a traditional sweet dish of Muslims in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. This year Eid Ul Fitr will be celebrated on either 13 or 14 May depending on the sighting of the moon.

Without this dish any Muslim festival is incomplete and it is also relished in the holy month of Ramazan. This special dish finds its roots in the time of the Mughals. Sheer kurma is a healthy dish that you will enjoy eating in iftar during the month of Ramazan.
Here is a simple method for the preparation of the Shahi Sheer Khurma Recipe.

Ingredients
- Vermicelli: 1/2 cup
- Milk: 1 litre
- Ghee: 1 tbsp
- Dry dates: 10 sliced
- White cardamom: 4 cloves
- Pistachio sliced: 4 tbsp
- Almonds sliced: 4 tbsp
- Roasted cashew: 10 (for garnish)
- Saffron: 1 tsp
- Sugar: 1/2 cup
- Khoya: 4 tbsp
- Cooking time:15 minutes
- Preparation time: 5 minutes
- Rosewater: one tbsp
- Milkmaid: 3 tbsp

Chicken Stir-Fry With Broccoli

Method Of Preparation
- Heat ghee in a pan and add to it white cardamom, vermicelli, almonds and Pistachio.
- Saute for 10 minutes until vermicelli gets brown coloured.
- Boil milk, add khoya, milkmaid, sugar and dates to the boiling milk.
- Add the sauteed vermicelli and dry fruits to the milk.
- Cook for 10 minutes until milk thickens.
- Sprinkle rose water on the prepared dish and serve hot.
- Garnish with grated coconuts and sesame seeds.
