Sponge Cake Recipe

Sponge Cake
Ingredients:
200gms Raising Flour (Maida)
200gms Castor Sugar
200gms Butter
2 tsp Baking Powder
¾ tsp Vanilla Essence or Rose Essence
4 Eggs
3 tbsp Milk
A pinch of Salt

Method:
Sieve the Flour with Baking powder. Cream Butter and Sugar with Milk until light and fluffy.

Add Eggs one at a time, whisking after each addition, until the mixture is thick and creamy.

Add essence. Using a quick Cut & Fold action blend the Flour and a little salt into the Beaten Eggs.

Pour the mixture into a greased tray and bake at 200 degrees C for 10 to 12 minutes.

Cool the cake and turnover a tray and decorate with your choice of Icing.
