Do not waste the leftover chapati dough but use it to make the delicious shankarpali, the popular deep fried snack of Karnataka. Add a little rice flour, Pinch of baking soda to the chapati dough and the shankarpali dough is ready. Simply fry and your crunchy picnic snack is ready to serve. Ingredients:

cup
rice
flour
-
Pinch
of
baking
soda
-
2
tsps
cumin
seeds
-
Pinch
of
ajwain
(carom
seeds)
-
Salt
as
per
taste
-
1
tsp
chilli
powder
-
Oil
for
frying
Preparation:
-
Add
all
the
above
ingredients
to
the
leftover
dough
(except
oil).
Mix
well
-
Heat
oil
in
a
pan.
Once
the
oil
is
hot,
add
a
big
teaspoon
to
the
mixture
and
knead
well.

Spread
the
dough
and
using
a
knife,
cut
into
small
squares
and
deep
fry
in
oil.
