Drumstick Vada An Indian Snack

Drumstick Vada
Drumsticks is a very healthy vegetable. It is used mainly in Indian curries and fries. The Drumstick tree is of high medicinal value and is used as an atiseptic for treating rheumatism and other conditions.

Here is a healthy recipe to make vadas. A nice homemade evening snack for you to enjoy.

Ingredients

  • Drumsticks - 4
  • Chick pea dal-1/2 cup
  • Onion (small size)-1
  • Green chillies - 3
  • Perum jeera - 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves - 1/2 bunch
  • Salt as required
  • Oil for frying

Directions to make the drumstick vada

  • First you have to cut the drumsticks into long pieces and boil with minimum amount of water. When it is boiled, cool it and separate the fleshy part of drumstick from the skin and keep it aside.
  • Now soak the dal in water for three hours and blend it coarsely.
  • Slice the onions, green chillies into small thin pieces along with corriander leaves that should be finely chopped.
  • Now mix the drumstick's fleshy part with dal, onion, green chillies, coriander leaves, perum jeera and salt.
  • With the palm of your hand, shape them like a vada and deep fry it in oil.

Eat hot and enjoy.
