Stuffed Crabs Recipe

Stuffed crab is one classic seafood recipe for starters. This recipe originally hails from the Chinese cuisine. Crabs may not be much sought item, but the seafood lovers simply cannot relish this mouthwatering recipe of stuffed crabs.

You just need to spare a little time for this delicious recipe. But you can rest assured that the hassle is worth the taste of it. The crab is steamed, then stuffed with a variety of vegetables and mix of herbs and spices. Later it is deep fried which further enhances the taste of the recipe. It is a must try for seafood lovers. Ingredients

  • Meat and top shell of steamed crabs- 5 pieces
  • Potato- 1 medium (diced)
  • carrot- 1 medium (diced)
  • Bread crumbs- 1/2 cup
  • Onion- 1 medium (minced)
  • Green chilli- 1 (chopped)
  • Tomato- 1 (diced)
  • Fresh parsley- 2tsp (chopped thinly)
  • Garlic- 3 cloves (minced)
  • Salt- as per taste
  • Ground black pepper- a pinch
  • Oil- 2tbsp
  • Eggs- 2
  • Cooking oil for deep frying- 1-2 cups

Method

  1. Heat pan and pour-in two tablespoons of cooking oil. Sauté onion and tomatoes for 2 minutes on medium flame.
  2. Add potato and carrot. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes
  3. Put-in the long green chili and crab meat (you may include the juice of the crab for additional flavor).
  4. Cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Add parsley, garlic powder, salt, and ground black pepper. Stir.
  6. Turn off the heat and place in a large bowl.
  7. Once the temperature cools down, combine the cooked mixture with breadcrumbs and eggs. Mix well.
  8. Stuff each crab shell with the mixture.
  9. Heat a pan and pour-in 1 to 2 cups of oil.
  10. When the oil becomes hot, deep fry the stuffed crab shells. The part with the stuffing should be facing up.
  11. Flip the crab shell and fry the side with stuffing in medium heat for about 3 to 5 minutes.
  12. Turn off the heat and transfer to a serving plate.
  13. Serve with tomato ketchup as dipping sauce.
