Recipe For Fish Molee

Ingredients :
Fish, fleshed and single-boned – 500 Gms
Onions - 2
Tomatoes - 3
Green chillies - 5
Ginger - 1 small piece
Garlic - 4 flakes
Red chillies - 3
Grated Coconut – 2 Cups
Vinegar – 1tsb
Cashew nuts – 5 – 10 nos
Turmeric – ¼ tsp
Salt – as required
Oil – as required
Method :
1.Wash and clean the fish, then Slice it into thick pieces.
2.Cut onions into thick rounds, cut ginger and slit green chillies.
3.Extract 3 cups of coconut milk and keep it aside.
4.Chop tomatoes into small pieces, and keep 1/2 of it separately.
5.Grind red chillies, garlic and turmeric until smooth.
6.Grind cashew nuts separately till smooth.
7.Heat oil and add the chopped onion and ginger. Fry until onions are transparent.
8.Add the green chillies and fry it for a minute more. Now add the tomatoes and the powderedingredients and salt.
9.Fry until the tomatoes turn to pulpy. Add the 2 1 cup of coconut milk and mix in the powdered cashew nuts and vinegar.
10.Stir and mix the gravy well, check for salt and gently add in the fish pieces.
11.Now cook in low flame, keep it covered until the fish is cooked and gravy is thick.
12.Add water if gravy is too thick and if needed.
13.Add the kept aside tomato pieces and cook for 2 minutes.
14.Now add ' cup of coconut milk and mix it well.
15.Keep for just a minute and remove from the stove.
Now your fish molee is ready to be served. Serve it with either rice or bread.
