Ramzan Special Recipe: Murgh Badami
It's time for the Iftar dinner and we are sure you are gearing up with the preparations. To lend a hand, we have a delicious and royal recipe today for you which is known as Murgh Badami. This special chicken recipe for Ramzan is one of the most delectable dish that you can taste during Iftar.
This chicken recipe is prepared with almonds, milk and other ingredients which make it a delight for your taste-buds. The recipe is easy enough to prepare but needs a little time for the marination. You have to taste it to experience the flavour of this delightful dish.

Ingredients
- Chicken- 1kg (cut into medium sized pieces)
- Lemon juice- 2tbsp
- Red chilli powder- 1tsp
- Salt- as per taste
- Thick yogurt- 3tbsp
- Garam masala powder- 1tsp
- Onions- 3 (sliced)
- Ginger-garlic paste- 2tbsp
- Green cardamoms- 4
- Cinnamon stick- 1
- Cloves- 5
- Bay leaf- 1
- Sugar- 1tsp
- Almonds- 1/2 cup (soaked overnight and peeled)
- Milk- 1/2 cup
- Turmeric powder- a pinch
- Nutmeg powder- a pinch
- Ghee/oil- 3tbsp
- Coriander leaves- 2tbsp (chopped for garnish)
- Chopped almonds- for garnish
Procedure
1.
Wash
the
chicken
properly
with
water
and
then
pat
dry
with
a
kitchen
towel.
2.
Grind
the
almonds
with
milk
in
a
mixer
into
a
thick
paste.
3.
Marinate
the
chicken
pieces
with
yogurt,
red
chilli
powder,
salt,
turmeric
powder,
lemon
juice
and
salt.
Refrigerate
and
keep
it
for
5-6
hours.
4.
After
that,
heat
oil/ghee
in
a
pan
and
add
the
bay
leaf,
cinnamon,
cardamoms,
cloves.
Fry
for
a
minute.
5.
Add
the
sliced
onion
and
sugar.
Saute
on
medium
flame
for
5-6
minutes
till
the
onions
turn
golden
brown.
6.
Then
add
the
ginger-garlic
paste
and
fry
for
2-3
minutes.
7.
Add
the
chicken
pieces
to
the
pan
and
make
sure
you
do
not
pour
in
the
marinade.
Keep
the
marinade
aside.
8.
Saute
the
chicken
for
7-8
minutes.
9.
After
that
add
the
marinade,
almond
paste,
salt,
nutmeg
powder,
garam
masala
powder
and
cook
for
another
5
minutes.
10.
Now
add
waterto
the
pan
and
mix
well.
11.
Cover
the
pan
and
cook
the
chicken
on
low
heat
for
15-20
minutes
on
low
heat.
12.
Once
the
chicken
is
completely
cooked,
switch
off
the
flame.
13.
Garnish
the
chicken
with
chopped
almonds
and
coriander
leaves.
