Quick & Easy Butter Chicken Recipe

Ingredients

  • Chicken- 500gms (boneless)
  • Onions- 4
  • Tomatoes- 3
  • Ginger-garlic paste- 1tbsp
  • Turmeric powder- 1tsp
  • Red chilli powder- 1tsp
  • Dhaniya (coriander) powder- 1tsp
  • Kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)- 1tbsp
  • Salt- as per taste
  • Tomato sauce- 1tbsp
  • Butter- 2tbsp
  • Coriander leaves- 2tbsp (chopped, for garnish)
  • Warm water- 1 cup

Procedure
1. Grind the onion coarsely in a mixer.
2. Grind the tomatoes to thick puree and keep it aside.
3. Wash and clean the chicken pieces thoroughly with water and keep it aside.
4. Heat butter in a pressure cooker and add the coarsely ground onion. Fry it on medium heat for 5-6 minutes till it turns golden.
5. Then add in the ginger-garlic paste and fry for 2-3 minutes.
6. Add in the chicken pieces and saute for another 4-5 minutes.
7. Then add the tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, dhaniya powder, salt and cook for another 5 minutes.
8. Add in the tomato sauce and kasuri methi to the cooker and mix well.
9. Now add the warm water and check the seasoning.
10. Cover the pressure cooker with a lid and cook on medium flame.
11. Wait for 3 whistles to blow.
12. Once done switch off the flame and allow the steam to come out completely from the cooker.
13. After that, open the lid and check if the chicken is completely cooked.
14. Once done, garnish the chicken with coriander leaves.

Butter chicken is ready to be served. Enjoy this buttery delight with rice or parathas.
