Ramadan 2021: Joojeh Kebab, An Iranian Recipe
Ramadan is slowly drawing to a close but the frenzy for the delectable foods remains the same. So, what are your plans to cook for Iftar today? It would be a good idea to try something out of the ordinary and give your family members a nice surprise. This year the festival will be celebrated from 14 April.
Today we have a special kebab recipe from Iran which is known as the joojeh kebab. These kebabs are very popular and taste simply heavenly. This kebab recipe is a special treat for all those who love to feast on chicken.

So, make these succulent kebabs at home by following the recipe. Here is the recipe for joojeh kebabs.

Ingredients
- Chicken breasts- 1kg (skinless, cut into cubes)
- Onion- 1 (grated)
- Lime juice- 4tbsp
- Salt- as per taste
- Mustard paste- 1tsp
- Pepper powder- 1tsp
- Jeera (cumin) powder- 1tsp
- Saffron- a pinch
- Warm water- 3tbsp
- Olive oil- 4tbsp
- Skewers
Procedure
1.
Grind
the
onion,
lime
juice,
olive
oil,
salt
and
pepper
together
in
a
mixer.
2.
Soak
the
saffron
in
warm
water
for
5
minutes.
3.
Wash
the
chicken
pieces
properly
with
water.
4.
Marinate
the
chicken
with
cumin
powder,
pepper
powder,
mustard
paste,
the
ground
mixture
and
saffron
for
about
8
hours.
Keep
the
chicken
in
a
refrigerator.
5.
After
8
hours
take
the
chicken
out
of
the
refrigerator
and
thread
the
chicken
pieces
into
the
metal
skewers.
6.
Place
the
skewers
on
grill
and
cook
till
the
chicken
is
completely
cooked.
