Creamy Basil Chicken For A Quick Dinner

First of all, chicken spiced with basil is shallow fried. So, this chicken recipe takes little time and is not as fattening as deep fried chicken. The cream sauce for the chicken can be prepared separately and just poured over the crisply fried basil chicken.

Fresh cream 1 cup
Basil leaves 10 to 15 (crushed)
Pepper powder 1 teaspoon
Pesto sauce 1 teaspoon
Flour 2 tablespoons

Procedure
For
Fried
Basil
Chicken:
Make small but deep incisions of the chicken. Run salt, pepper and crushed basil leaves on the chicken pieces.
Melt butter in a pan. Then roll the chicken pieces in flour and shallow fry on medium heat.
Cover the pan and let it cook for 10 to 12 minutes on low flame. You can also add the mushrooms.
Keep turning it after every 4-5 minutes so that the chicken pieces are evenly cooked.
Procedure For Cream Chicken Sauce:
Melt butter in a shallow pan. Saute the onions in it till they turn golden.
Now add pepper and some pesto sauce to it. You can also add a few twigs of fresh basil.
Whip the fresh cream in a bowl until it is frothy. Pour the cream in to pan. Stir to mix well.
Add half a cup of water and let it bubble for a while. When the consistency is right, pour the sauce over the fried chicken pieces.
