Butter Chicken Lasagna: Italy Meets India
Chicken lasagna is a very popular Italian recipe. Usually lasagna recipes are popular for their cheesy and creamy taste. However, we have special lasagna recipe that uses butter chicken as its base. Butter chicken lasagna is a dish in which the Indian and Italian styles of cooking meet. This dish has a unique combination of Indian and Italian spices.
This chicken lasagna is still a creamy cheese-filled dish. However, it now has the added richness of butter chicken gravy. This lasagna recipe requires you to roast the chicken first and then use to make lasagna.

Ingredients
- Chicken pieces (boneless)- 10 (400 grams)
- Tandoori Masala- 2tbsp
- Yoghurt- 4tbsp
- Onions- 2 (diced)
- Ginger garlic paste- 2tbsp
- Tomatoes- 2 (chopped finely)
- Cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp
- Fenugreek leaves (dry)- 2tbsp
- Pepper powder- 1tbsp
- Green chillies- 2 (minced)
- Butter (unsalted)- 4tbsp
- Fresh cream- 2tbsp
- Salt- as per taste
- Ingredients For Lasagna
- Lasagna noodles- 2 cups
- Ricotta cheese- 1 cup (grated)
- Cheddar cheese- 1/2 cup (grated)
- Basil leaves- 10
- Extra virgin olive oil- 1tbsp
- Salt- as per taste
Procedure
- Marinate the chicken pieces with tandoori masala, salt and curd. Leave it for 30 minutes.
- Now grease a baking dish with butter and place the chicken along with the marinade in the baking dish.
- Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees. Grill the chicken pieces for 15 to 20 minutes on 60 per cent power. Keep turning the pieces around for uniform cooking.
- Meanwhile, melt butter in a deep pan. Season it with cumin seeds and minced chillies. Also sprinkle the fenugreek leaves after 30 seconds.
- After 1 minute, add onions and lower the flame. Saute for 4-5 minutes. After this, add ginger garlic paste and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Then add the tomatoes and sprinkle salt. Also add the pepper and cook on low flame for another 5 minutes.
- Add fresh cream to this mixture and stir for 2 minutes to get a creamy consistency.
- By now, the chicken would be grilled. So remove it from the oven and add it along with the marinade to the sauce.
- Simmer the sauce for 2-3 minutes and then keep aside.
- Boil the lasagna noodles for 10 minutes on a medium flame and drain away the water.
- Toss the boiled lasagna with olive oil and basil leaves.
- Now take a baking dish and make a layer of lasagna noodles. Top it with a layer of butter chicken sauce. Add a layer of grated cheese on it.
- Repeat this process for 3 layers. The top layer should be of cheese.
- Now bake this dish in an oven preheated to 250 degrees for 20 minutes at 60 per cent power.
Butter chicken lasagna is a complete meal that you can enjoy with any sauce of your choice.
