Corned Beef & Cabbage For St. Patrick's Feast
Its St. Patrick's Day today and what can make it more perfect than tasty Irish recipes. The day is celebrated for saint Patrick, the well known saint of Ireland. On the feast day, people dress in green and prepare some delicious Irish recipes. Take a look at how to go about with the Corned Beef & Cabbage Recipe
Corned Beef & Cabbage Recipe – St. Patrick's Day Special
Ingredients:
1. 1 1/2 pounds onions
2. 2 pounds carrots
3. 3 pounds cabbage
4. 2 pounds small red potatoes, scrubbed
5. 6 pounds corned beef brisket
6. 1 tsp mustard seeds
7. 1 tsp coriander seeds
8. 1/2 tsp black peppercorns
9. 1/2 tsp dill seeds
10. 1/2 tsp whole allspice
11. 2 bay leaves
12. 1 cup malt vinegar
13. 6 ounces Irish stout beer
14. Serves 10
Corned Beef & Cabbage Preparation:
1. In a stock pot, bake corned beef with some chopped onions, carrots, malt vinegar, stout beer, mustard seeds, coriander seeds, black peppercorns, dill seeds, allspice and bay leaves. Add sufficient water and bake on simmer until the meat is well cooked.
2. Then cut the remaining onions into wedges and carrots into halves and place it at the sides on the cooking beef. Also slice rinsed cabbage and potatoes into wedges and place on the beef. Cover and cook for some more time until the vegetables are well boiled.
Serve the patrick's day special Corned Beef & Cabbage recipe seasoning with mustard Sauce.
