Pineapple Fish: A Lip Smacking Dish

Pineapple Fish

Serves: 4

Preparation Time: 5-10 minutes

Cooking Time: 15-20 minutes

Ingredients

  • Salmon, Mackerel or Tuna- 2 cans (fillets)
  • Mustard Seeds- ½ tsp
  • Green Chillies- 2-3 (slit from between)
  • Mustard Sauce- 3-4tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder- 1-1 ½tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder- 1tsp
  • Pineapple Slices- 2 cups
  • Salt- To Taste
  • Mustard or Vegetable Oil- 8-9tbsp

Procedure

  • Take the fish fillets in a pan full of water and keep it over the gas oven on a medium flame. Add some salt and boil it for 5-10 minutes.
  • Now drain the extra water and keep the fish fillets aside.
  • Take another deep bottomed frying pan over the gas oven and keep it on a low flame. Now add the vegetable oil to it.
  • Sprinkle the mustard seeds and let them pop. Now add the green chillies, mustard sauce, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and some salt to the same pan. Stir on a low flame for 1-2 minutes. You may also add a cup of water if the mixture turns too dry.
  • Now add the fish fillets and saute the whole mixture on a low flame for 4-5 minutes. Add the pineapple slices now. Saute it again for a minute or two on a low flame and then bring it down.
  • Your pineapple fish is now ready to be served.

Serve the pineapple fish hot with a rice preparation. You may also have it as a complement to cocktails or mocktails in a party.
