Lakme Fashion Week 2015: The Fabulous 'Behrupia' By Vaishali S
The performing art form of "beherupiya" is the inspiration for Vaishali S's LFW Summer/Resort 2015 line.
In the words of the designer herself, she states, "the ‘beherupiya' is the thread, it goes to different states, fabric is made out of it, textiles are weaved out of it but it doesn't have an identity of its own." Talented Vaishali S compares her collection to - "(It's sort of like how) the soul is one but it has multiple characters."

The designer draws inspiration from the real life characterisation of 'Behrupia' too. Vaishali S.'s label draws upon the idea of threads disguising as new textiles and the inspiration from handlooms and textiles from around India.

The ‘Khand' textile is broadly highlighted in her collection at the Jabong Lakme Fashion Week 2015 along with khadi and other cottons featured in fantastic colours. This "Berhrupia", which her line is all about keeps attracting fashionistas with its different dimensions and surprises through its simple beauty.

The irony is that like the human "Behrupia, most of the textiles are also losing their presence in current globalised scenario and one of that is "KHAND".

This collection of Vaishali S featured on day 2 at the LFW 2015 is dedicated to all the Indian hand woven textiles which capture the journey of a thread that is travelling across every region in India to rediscover his identity.

Just like how we fell in love with her cool summery collection, we are sure you will love it too.
