WIFW 2014: Vineet Bahl’s Utsav Collection
WIFW 2014 was a much awaited fashion event. It is the fashion week which presents the best of the season to the fashion fraternity. Today, WIFW 2014 showcased Vineet Bahl's collection among others. Designer Vineet Bahl's collection is titled ‘Utsav' and it literally symbolizes the passion for life. Vineet Bahl's WIFW 2014 collection is about celebrating life and every aspect of its existence. It leaves us the message that life is beautiful and happiness lies in enjoying its beauty today instead of thinking about the future.
Vineet Bahl has used his trademark Banarasi fabrics along with Tussar georgettes. We have seen him use the net pattern of embroidery in almost all the creations. This style of embroidery builds a mesh like pattern that gives uniformity to the ‘Utsav' collection. Although the WIFW 2014 collection is about life and celebration, colour comes on gradually on the ramp. First, there are some white outfits, then colour seeps in slowly in the collection.
In the end we see a number of lots of colours and bright dori work on the ramp. Vineet Bahl's WIFW 2014 collection has something in it for everyone. There are many different colours in this collection and also designs. There are lehegas, palazzo pants and the typical beaver kurtis in this collection. Chequered patterns and hand sewn sequins held the common thread of the collection.
We liked the theme of the collection and also the motif behind it. Again, this collection on Day 1 of Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week did not have any celebrity showstoppers. But from the angle of pure fashion, the collection is totally worth a detailed look.

Pale Blue Jacket Over Kurta
This outfit was a part of the first part of the Utsav collection. The kurta and churidar are plain white georgette. There is a pale sky blue jacket over the kurta that sets the outfit apart.

Nude n Pink Saree
This see-through saree was one of the highlights of the show. The nude coloured saree had pale blue details in it. We love the three-fourth sleeved blouse and the entire look of the saree.

White Palazzo Pants
These mesh embroidered palazzo pants is one of the innovations that we saw in the Utsav collection. The pants are very summery and will definitely be a trend setter.

White Ankle Length Dress
hese days, silhouettes are the flavour of the season. This ankle length kurta style gown has very intricate embroidery.

Blue Banarasi Kurta
This closed neck sherwani style kurta has the richness of Banarasi silk and sequins in it. It could be the perfect piece you need for your friend's wedding.

Sheer White Kurta n Churidar
This sheer kurta is made of white lace. The neck is rounded and the neckline reveals sheer embroidery details. We loved the compact look.

Peach Coloured Sharara
This pretty peach coloured sharara is perfect for wearing at a day function in any wedding. The colour is very summering and the white embroidered details are just brilliant.

Yellow Embroidered Dress
This pale yellow dress is full of thick embroidery work. The sleeves are sheer and have white embroidery details on the cuffs. Somehow, we feel it could have made a better kurta than it makes a dress.

Peplum Top n Palazzo Pants
This sequined peplum top has a border of exquisite lace. It is worn with nude coloured georgette palazzo pants.
