Trend Alert: Neon Colour Sarees Are 'In'
Saree styles just keep changing every season. Finally, we have come to a point that sarees are just as transient in terms of fashion as gowns or dresses. Every season, we see a certain saree style that trends and soon, it goes out of fashion. Usually sarees have a permanent place in our wardrobes. But those days are long gone.
The latest trend in Bollywood is wearing neon colour sarees. It started with Manish Malhotra's '100 Years Of Bollywood Collection' at the Lakme Fashion Week 2013. He presented two lovely neon colour sarees. One of these chiffon sarees was neon lemon green with a shaded magenta border and this one was worn by Priyanka Chopra. Another neon green saree with pink embroidery was draped in the Mumtaz style.
Masaba Gupta also did a lot of interesting work with neon colour sarees. She has made neon green one of the most 'in' colours for Indian wear. Almost all her sarees have patches of neon colours in them. Chiffon sarees look best in these bright neon shades. And most of neon colour sarees that we have loved so far are chiffon-based fabric.
Lets take a closer look at Bollywood's obsession with neon coloured sarees.

Priyanka Chopra In Manish Malhotra
Priyanka Chopra wore this neon lemon green saree had pink borders and was teamed up with a low cut blouse. The blouse was tied up into a bow at the back. The plain chiffon saree was like a tribute to Yash Chopra who had introduced the wet lady in a clinging chiffon saree.

Kareena Kapoor In Manish Malhotra
Earlier this year, Kareena wore this see-through neon orange saree for an event. The saree was worn with a bright neon yellow blouse.

Madhuri Dixit In Masaba Gupta
Madhuri Dixit wore this Satya Paul saree designed by Masaba Gupta at a television show. This saree has smattering two neon colours, green and pink.

Deepika Padukone In Arpita Mehta
Arpita Mehta sarees are known for their mirrorwork. But this one surprised us with its bold neon shades. This neon colour saree was worn with a tube blouse that had mirror work on it.

Madhuri Dixit In Neon Pink
Madhuri Dixit sizzled in this neon pink saree at Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. This neon pink saree was teamed up with a sleeveless neon green floral blouse.

Shriya Saran In Manish Malhotra
Shriya Saran picked out an absolute stunner from Manish Malhotra's couture for IIFA 2013. She looked pretty in this neon colour lehenga saree that had intricate embellishments on it.

Mini Mathur In Masaba Gupta
Mini Mathur wore this dual colour saree from Masaba Gupta for an event a few months back. The colour block pallu of the saree was neon green in colour.

Shilpa Shetty In Arpita Mehta
Arpita Mehta's dazzling mirror work sarees are making into the fashion world. Shilpa Shetty choose a bright pink neon colour saree from the designer's couture recently. She teamed it up with with a black coloured blouse.

Avantika Mallick In Masaba Gupta
Avantika wore this stylish Masaba Gupta creation to a party. The saree is mostly has patterns of black and white. But the blouse is a startling neon green in colour.
