LFW 2013: 'Curious' Kaftans To Try

Day 3 of LFW 2013 was full of many surprises. For example, Vikram Phandis's glorious golden collection stunned us. But just before that we had something very interesting from Pria Kataria Puri's couture. Pria Kataria Puri's LFW 2013 collection was filled with colours and patterns. It was titled the 'Fast and Curious' collection. And the designs were 'curious' indeed.

We do usually expect to see kaftans and comfortable cotton clothes in a winter collection. However, we did see some curiously comfy and colourful clothes in this collection for Lakme Fashion Week 2013 Winter Festive. Pria Kataria Puri experimented with bold and loud block prints. The patterns were contemporary and comprised of modern symbols like arrows and abstractions.

Mahi Gill was the showstopper for Pria Kataria Puri's LFW 2013 collection. She wore a shimmering white and gold metallic beaded sequined dress. The golden sequins were set on the base of the dress that was white. There was also some lace work at the edges of the mini dress. Mahi Gill's outfit had a plunging neckline that made it perfect for wearing to clubs and parties.

Here are some interesting and colourful kaftans and dresses from Pria Kataria Puri's LFW 2013 collection.

Orange Dress With Long Sleeves

The orange mini dress has patterns in earthy colours. The neckline has a scooped cleavage and the sleeves are asymmetrically long.

White Sarong Dress

This white wrapped up dress has brown and black prints. It has been wrapped around the neck like a sarong and looks perfect for the beach look.

Fur Collared Kaftan

This white full-sleeved kaftan gets some sense of shape due to the sleek belt. The black fur collar adds a semblance of winter the outfit.

Single Shoulder Mini Dress

This white mini dress has the same brown and black abstract patterns on it. The single shoulder dress has been teamed up with a black belt.

Bikini Gown

This aqua blue and orange kaftan was short and worn over a bikini top. The orange bikini knickers were visible under the kaftan.

Neon Green Scooped Kaftan

This neon green kaftan had brown patterns on it and was marked by black borders. The arms of the kaftan were scooped at the shoulders.

Aqua Blue Scooped Kaftan

This floor-length kaftan was aqua blue in colour with orange patterns. The neckline and shoulders of the outfit were deeply scooped.

Neon Green Animal Print Kaftan

This neon green bikini was shrouded by front open kaftan. The neon green kaftan had animal prints on it and was covered in golden frills.

Aqua Blue One Side Kaftan

This aqua blue outfit has brown pattern on it. The kaftan sleeves were present only on one side. The other arm was sleeveless.

Single Shoulder Kaftan

This kaftan was a single shoulder one. The typical sleeves of the kaftan were missing but from waist down, the outfit was flimsy and loose.

Sheer Blue Kaftan

This aqua blue kaftan was completely sheer. The halter bikini could be seen through the dress easily.

Checked Green Sarong

This outfit is not strictly speaking a kaftan. It is more like a bikini with a sarong that has been inspired by the kaftan style. The leaf green outfit has red checks on it.

Purple Jumpsuit

This purple outfit with a scooped neck is loose like a kaftan. But itthe outfit ends in the form of balloon pants.

Leaf Green Slit Kaftan

This lush leaf green kaftan has the typical scooped shoulders. The other highlight of this outfit is that it is slit in the front.

Purple Mini Kaftan

This purple outfit is a proper kaftan with a V-neck plunging deep. The only difference is that it ends right above the knees.

Black Single Shoulder Kaftan

This black kaftan is lined with embroidered floral patterns. We haven't seen much of embroidery in this collection and this is a rare one.

Orange Scooped Kaftan

This orange kaftan looks novel because the waist is scooped out.

Pink Sheer Kaftan

This sheer pink kaftan looks alluring over the halter bikini two-piece. The outfit is slit from both sides.

Black, Cream n Orange Cape

This hot black bikini is accompanied by a shroud like cape that has innovative black, cream and brown patterns.

Mahi Gill

Mahi Gill, the showstopper for the collection wore a golden and white metallic beaded mini dress. The dress had lace work at its edges.
