Day 4 IBFW 2013: Ashima n Leena's Aalap Collection
Day four of IBFW 2013 had promised to be totally star studded. Sonam Kapoor walked for Rohit Bal who is making a debut at the Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week. On the other hand, Ashmia and Leena presented their ‘Aalap' collection on Day 4 of IBFW 2013. This collection has been the designer duos's dream project.
With this Ashima and Leena collection, designer Leena Singh's daughter Rhea Singh will make her grand entry into the fashion world. Nargis Fakhri looked stunning in an orange and gold lehenga choli as the showstopper of the Ashima n Leena collection. The choli was completely embroidered and full sleeved. The lehenga was matte gold in colour and had a thick orange border.
As Nargis Fakhri walked down the ramp on Day 4 of IBFW 2013, she looked every inch like a demure bride. Her full-sleeved choli was orange in colour and the sleeves were golden. It was cut in the perfect anarkali style. The lehenga had no embroidery. It was plain golden in colour with just the orange border for artistic effect. Nargis Fakhri's hair was side swept and adorned with layers of golden beads.

Anarkali Blouse n Golden Saree
The first section of Ashima and Leena's ‘Aalap' collection was set in pure gold. This full-sleeved golden blouse had sheer sleeves. The saree was sheer golden with almost no work on it. But still looks beautiful.

Dhoti Drape Saree
The next golden saree in the row was draped like a dhoti. This sheer golden saree had solid gold stipes on it.

Golden Lehenga
Another piece of pure golden aesthetics. The lehenga was golden lace with tiny embellishments on the fringes.

Full-sleeved Choli
Ashima and Leena have made extensive use of full sleeves in their 'Aalap' collection. The sleeves here are sheer but have solid golden stripes.

Golden Lehenga Saree
The entire saree is sheer gold in colour and has solid golden stripes. The blouse is cap sleeved and opaque gold in colour.

Sea Green Lehenga Choli
For the first time in the ‘Aalap' collection we get to see a colour other than pure gold. This delicate sea green colour looks stunning on bridal wear. It's very demure and bride like.

Deep Golden n Wine Red Suit
This churidar kameez has a deep golden colour, that is much darker than the sheer gold that we saw in the first segment of the collection.

Wine, Gold n Green Lehenga
The initimate blending of colours continues. This lehenga choli is in the Lucknowi style. It has shades of deep golden, moss green and wine red.

Orange n Sea Green Patiala
The next segment of Ashima and Leena's collection moves to brighter shores. This patiayala and kameez is bright orange and light sea green in colour. The golden embroidery is much louder than what we have seen before.

Orange Sea Green Lehenga
The lehenga is flame orange in colour and is studded with golden embroidery. The sleeveless choli is long and golden in colour. The drape is a pretty sea green in colour.

Orange n Moss Green Anarkali
This anarkali suit is almost completely orange in colour and has heavy golden work on it. On the borders of the hem and drape are sheer moss green lace.

Orange Dhoti Pants
This outfit is truly innovative as compared to the other traditional outfits we saw so far. The orange and gold dhoti pants are worn with a halter neck choli. The drape is very long and wide, giving the outfit a half-saree like look.

Floral Patterns On Lehenga
The 'Aalap' collection started with almost no embroidery. Then it slowly moved to minimal and light embroidery. Finally, we can see distinct floral patterns on this golden lehenga. The blouse has a deeply cut back and the drape is sheer orange.

Tri-colour Drape
This is a simple scooped back anarkali churidar. The highlight of the outfit is the tri-colour drape. It has bands of orange, gold and moss green in it.

Tri-colour Drape
This is a simple scooped back anarkali churidar. The highlight of the outfit is the tri-colour drape. It has bands of orange, gold and moss green in it.

Moss Green Lehenga Saree
This layered saree has the base colour as a pale moss green. It also has bands of light brown and gold. Paired with a full sleeve blouse, the saree looks remarkably like a lehenga.

Orange Chaniya Choli
The choli of this outfit has two sheer panels over it. The boat necked choli is also full-sleeved and worn over a wide hemmed lehenga. Instead of gold, this outfit has bronze details.

Jacket Blouse n Saree
The highlight of this sheer ink blue saree is the jacketed blouse. The outfit comprises of a sleeveless choli blouse that is royal blue in colour. Over it, there is a sheer orange full-sleeved jacket with bronze embroidery.

Anarkali Dress
This is the first full-length ankarkali in this collection. It is dual coloued; orange and brocade blue. The full-sleeved outfit with a brocade drape looks stunningly bridal.

Dhoti Pants n Flare Kurta
Moving from the elegant anarkali, this contemporary outfit comprises of bottle green brocade dhoti pants and a short orange flare kurta.

Orange, Gold n Bronze Lehenga
If you want your bridal lehenga to be a blend of Indian colours, try this one. The patches of orange, moss green, bronze and golden embroidery makes the outfit look like a kaleidoscope.

Peacock Blue Lehenga
This lehenga is slightly different from the others in terms of colour scheme. We see Ashima and Leena use rich peacock blue in this collection for the first time.

Ornate Golden Jewellery
As this anarkali gown and drape are relatively simple, let's talk about the jewellery. We have seen some really exquisite and novel jewellery designs at theIBWF 2013. This golden necklace is probably among the best.

Navy Blue Dhoti Kurta
This outfit is quite unique in its aesthetics. The bottom is a navy blue dhoti with golden borders. The top is a long navy blue and golden kurta in the anarkali style.

Bandhgala Kurta
This lehenga has an interesting twist. It has been paired with a bandhgala kurta instead of a choli. The colours comprise of dominant orange and peacock blue.

Kurta With Saree
This orange saree with golden work has been worn with a kurta instead of a blouse. The kurta is in the Mughal style. It is round necked and full-sleeved.

V-Neck Drape
This is a very typical bridal style in India. The dupatta has been draped in a V-shape over the bosom and then used to cover the head.

Sheer Net Border
An interesting feature of Ashima and Leena's collection has been the sheer net borders in the lenegas and drapes. This is a close look at the sheer orange border on the golden lehenga.

Layed Orange Saree
This plain orange saree with golden embroidery is perfect for after wedding parties. Note the wrapped up draping style here. It resembles the retro Mumtaz saree.

Leaf Pattern Drape
The outfit is not exactly stylish with the long kaftan style kurta and loose pyjamas. But the sheer orange-red drape has golden leaf patterns and it looks exquisite.

Broacade Border
Just like we discussed the sheer lace border before, the solid brocade order is also a style implemented by Ashima and Leena.

Nargis Fakri In Orange n Gold
The showstopper Nargis Fakri's outfit was representative of the entire ‘Aalap' collection. It was set in the two main colours used by Ashima and Leena, orange and gold.

Full-sleeved Anarkali Choli
Nargis Fakhri wore a full-sleeved anarkali choli with the lehenga. The choli was totally orange and had sheer golden sleeves. The lehenga was completely golden and had a thick sheer orange border.

Kamarbandh n Tiara
Nargis Fakhri wore a jarao kamarbandh on her golden lehenga. Her hair was adorned with layers of golden beads.

The Showstopper
Nargis Fakhri took a walk down the aisle (metaphorically) dressed as bride with the designer duo Ashima and Leena.
