6 Movie Inspired Fashion Trends For Women
Movies can inspire fashion, especially among the impressionable youth. Fashion comes like sea waves; sweeps the wardrobes and quickly disappears. Many such major 'waves' of fashion trends for women can be traced back to super hit Bollywood movies. Whether it is Chandni suit or the Didi Tera Dewar Dewana blouse, Bollywood fashion trends are avidly followed by the masses.

The Best Movie Inspried Fashion Trendsetters:
1. Bobby: Let us start from the beginning. The movie Bobby was released 1973, and it immediately created a controversy for the 'skimpy' (by 70s standards) clothes worn by Dimple Kapadia. But the movie was a record breaking hit! The spirited image of a 17 year old Dimple Kapadia in the polka dotted blouse is unforgettable. Polka dots quickly became a raging fashion trend among women.
2. Chandni: Chandni was probably the movie that made Sridevi such a fashion trend setter. The pretty churidars worn in this movie became the fashion mantras for college girls within few days of release. This movie is best remembered for the white salwar suit that Sridevi was shown wearing on the poster.
3. Devdas: It had been a long time since you saw someone wear traditional Indian clothes with as much panache as Aishwarya Rai in Devdas. The Bengali style of wearing a saree was brought back into fashion by this movie. It made the Patli pallu (a type of saree that has distinct patterns on the pleats and the anchal) was reintroduced as a fashion trend among women. Heavy traditional jewellery too became fashionable after 'Paro' endorsed it.
4. Bunty Aur Bubli: Not exactly haute couture, but this movie works perfectly for street style fashion. The bold and wide collared Kurtis worn by Rani Mukherji in this movie, are a perfect example of the typical Bollywood fashion statement. Simply jhakaas!
5. Aisha: This movie could have easily passed as a fashion catalogue because that is what it is about; finding the best in high fashion. This supposed rendition of Jane Austen's classic novel, 'Emma' is fashionably correct. If you want to be a fashionable, elegant, and high class model, then follow Sonam Kapoor in Aisha. Classy and yet innovative, Aisha was a movie inspired by fashion.
6. Anarkali Churidar: This fashion trend was started by the ancient Mughal-e-azam but it has be brought up again and again in many movies. All the top stars from Kareena Kapoor to Aishwarya Rai have sported the Anarkali style churidar and kurta at some point of time. It si typically tight around and buts and falls looses from there
