Fashion and style statements change much faster than the weather in Bollywood. What is in fashion today is probably gone tomorrow. So, mapping the trends is not an easy job. Yet we have observed many celebrities wearing the stylish lehenga saree in this festive season. Several notable Bollywood celebrities were seen sporting this particular saree style recently.

A lehenga saree is actually an outfit that resembles a lehenga but is actually a saree. It does not have to be draped like a saree because it is already pleated. The body of the saree has different colours for the anchal or pallu. This gives it the look and feel of a lehenga. A lehenga saree is often teamed up with blouses that look like cholis.

This saree style came into trend around a month back. Some of the Bollywood celebrities were recently seen carrying a lehenga saree beautifully. Bipasha Basu was seen sporting a lehenga saree during the India International Jewellery Week in September. Others wore it during the Lakme Fashion Week too. But the real thrust came in during Diwali. We saw many stars wearing lehenga sarees at the Diwali bash parties thrown by the Bachchans, Ekta Kapoor and Shilpa Shetty.

Finally, the premier of Jab Tak Hai Jaan altogether looked like a display to this saree style. Many celebrities starting from Gauri Khan to Preity Zinta and even one of the leading ladies, Katrina Kaif draped a lehenga saree for this event.

Leading Lady: Katrina

Katrina Kaif Sizzled in an off-white lehenga saree on the red carpet of the Jab Tak Hai Jaan premier. Full points for that red kamar-bandh (waist band) because that too is in trend these days.

Sarso Ka Phool: Preity

Preity Zinta looked very pretty in a fish-tail cut lehenga saree. Cut is really 'in' this season and the vibrant yellow is like a breath of spring in winters.

Coins & Brocade For Mandira

Mandira Bedi has lost oodles of weight and her petite figure is looking absolutely brilliant in this brocaded lehenga saree. She was seen wearing it at Ekta Kapoor's Diwali bash.

Gauri Khan In Midnight Blue

The first lady of Bollywood looked ravishing in a midnight blue lehenga saree. She wore it in wrapped up style around her waist in the 70s Mumtaz style.

The Black & Blue Goddess: Bipasha

Bipasha is one of the trend-setters of this style. Her black and blue lehenga saree at the IIJW 2012 was much talked about.

Net And Red For Rani

Rani Mukherji wore a delicate net lehenga saree that had white, red and black colours in it. Although the saree is exquisite it did nothing to hide Rani's expanding figure.
