Sun Protection Tips For Different Skin Types: Oily, Dry, Normal, Combination It’s All In Here!
India's first solar observatory, Aditya-L1, has launched on a journey to the Sun-Earth L1 point. As the nation congratulates the successful launch of India's first solar mission, it is an occasion to be proud of.
As Aditya-L1 orbits between the Earth and the Sun, it will observe the solar atmosphere, providing data that will allow us to gain a better understanding of the solar system and its effects on the Sun.

The sun is the primary source of energy for our planet-but at the same time, too much sun can never be good for us either. What a conundrum, right?!
It's true that the warm Indian sun can be both a blessing and a curse for our skin. While it provides essential vitamin D, it also poses significant risks if not properly protected against.
Understanding your skin type and how to shield it from the sun is crucial for maintaining healthy and glowing skin. In this article, we'll walk you through sun protection tips tailored to different skin.

Sun Protection Tips For Different Skin Types
1. Oily Skin
If your skin tends to get greasy:
- Opt for oil-free, non-comedogenic sunscreen (doesn't clog pores).
- Choose a gel-based sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.
- Blot excess oil with oil-absorbing sheets throughout the day.
- Reapply sunscreen every two hours to prevent breakouts.
2. Dry Skin
If your skin often feels tight and lacks moisture:
- Use a moisturising sunscreen with added hydrating ingredients.
- Look for sunscreens with SPF 30 or higher.
- Apply a moisturiser before your sunscreen to lock in moisture.
- Consider a wide-brimmed hat for added protection and to prevent further dryness.

3. Sensitive Skin
If your skin is prone to redness or irritation:
- Choose a sunscreen labelled as "hypoallergenic" or "sensitive skin."
- Opt for physical sunscreens with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide.
- Do a patch test before applying new sunscreens to your face.
- Seek shade whenever possible and wear protective clothing.
4. Combination Skin
If your skin has both oily and dry areas:
- Use a lightweight, oil-free sunscreen for your T-zone.
- Apply a moisturising sunscreen to the drier areas of your face.
- Blot oily areas during the day without disrupting your sunscreen.
- Reapply sunscreen to the entire face as needed.
5. Normal Skin
If your skin feels balanced and not too oily or dry:
- A broad-spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen should work well for you.
- Focus on applying sunscreen to often overlooked areas like your ears and neck.
- Enjoy the sun responsibly, but don't forget to reapply sunscreen.
- Consider makeup products with added sun protection for added coverage.

On A Final Note...
Remember, regardless of your skin type, sunscreen is your best friend in the fight against harmful UV rays.
