Beetroot For Your Skin: Ways To Use It For Dry Skin And Wrinkles
Aside from being packed with minerals, proteins, and vitamins, fruits are fantastic for the skin. Whether you consume them or apply them, fruits can do wonders for the skin. And one such vegetable is the BEETROOT!

Beetroot contains a number of essential nutrients, including fibre, folate (vitamin B9), manganese, potassium, iron, and vitamin C. A number of health benefits have been associated with beetroots and beetroot juice, including increased exercise performance, improved blood flow, and lower blood pressure [1][2].
But did you know that they are beneficial for your skin too? Let's take a look.
Benefits Of Beetroot For Skin
1. Fights acne
As a rich source of vitamin C, beets reduce excess oils in the skin and may prevent breakouts and acne. Beet juice or beetroot juice can be useful for reducing acne scars, wrinkles, and dark spots on the skin [3].
2. Boosts skin glow
In addition to purifying the blood by removing toxins, beetroot also leaves our skin looking plump, healthy, and glowing as a result of its consumption.
Besides protecting the skin from early signs of ageing, beetroot is also rich in iron, which revives damaged cells from within, giving a radiant appearance to dull skin immediately [4].

3. Reduce pigmentation on the skin
As beetroots contain vitamin C, many people believe that they can help treat pigmentation. Research has shown that vitamin C can assist in decreasing melanin production and alleviating hyperpigmentation.
4. Reduces tan
One of the most common skin concerns is pigmentation, including tan, which can make your skin look dull and unhealthy. Beetroot juice is one of the powerhouse foods that aids in fading pigmentation and giving you a brighter complexion.
5. Anti-ageing properties
Beetroot contains a high concentration of fibre as well as an amino acid called betaine and vitamin C. Beetroot juice can reduce inflammation and lower blood pressure and can help control signs of ageing [5].
Beetroot For Skincare: Ways To Use It
Beetroot for tan removal
Apply one teaspoon of beetroot juice and one tablespoon of sour cream to the affected area and leave it on for 15-20 minutes before washing it off with normal water. Do this twice a week to achieve the best results.
Beetroot for dry skin
Apply one teaspoon of milk, a few drops of almond oil, and two teaspoons of beetroot juice to your face for 10 minutes and then wash it off to get soft, smooth skin.
Beetroot for wrinkles
Drink equal parts of cucumber juice and beetroot juice. You'll notice a dramatic improvement in the elasticity of your skin. Beetroot is a powerful antioxidant that can improve the look of dull skin.

On A Final Note...
There is no need to consume more than one cup of beetroot per day. However, due to beetroot's high oxalate content, you may experience kidney stones if you consume more than that.
