Chocolate Day 2023: Skincare Benefits Of Chocolate: 3 Ways To Use It!
It's Chocolate Day on 9 February - the third day of Valentine's Week. Obviously, chocolate is a symbol of love - so it is only right a whole day is dedicated for that!
We all know the benefits of eating chocolate, what about applying it on your face? Have you tried chocolate for your skin yet? Well, we will convince you then!
Here are the skincare benefits of chocolate and 3 ways to use it for your skin.

Chocolate For Skincare: Benefits
Using cocoa powder regularly will help you achieve firm skin as it contains caffeine and theobromine, two compounds that are extremely beneficial for your skin.
The same reason, cocoa powder is considered beneficial for removing cellulite and tightening the skin is that it breaks down fats and reduces fluid retention in the skin, which results in firm, toned skin [1].
In addition, chocolate is packed with vitamins and minerals, such as Vitamin E, several B vitamins, as well as magnesium, calcium, iron and many more that help soothe the skin, and also provide protection against UV rays.
When used on the skin, all of these nutrients are absorbed by the skin and provide superior nourishment [2].
Using a nutrient rich chocolate facial mask can be beneficial for your skin in many ways. Skincare facial masks generally remain on the face for 15-20 minutes, which is enough for them to absorb excess oil produced by the sebaceous glands of the skin and maintain the moisture barrier of the skin by properly hydrating it during that time period [3].
Note: It is safe to use Cocoa Powder for Skin, and that too with the highest cocoa percentage you can find. Avoid using chocolate bars for skincare.
